Northstar | Apartment Atlas

CONFIGURATION

Workspace settings

Manage your workplace, map provider and backups. Your existing apartment data will be preserved.

Workplace address

1-bedroom ceiling ($)

2+ bedroom ceiling ($)

Map provider

Google Maps API key (required for default map)

Google mode needs billing enabled plus Maps JavaScript API, Routes API and Geocoding API in the same Google Cloud project. Use a browser key restricted to your Cloudflare website and these APIs. The key stays in this browser and is excluded from backups.

Commute estimates entered in the listing are shown as your estimates. Google Maps is the default, and the app asks for your key before displaying it. It will not silently switch providers. Selecting a listing can request Google driving and public-transit routes (usage may be billed). To use the keyless map instead, explicitly choose OpenStreetMap above. Saved commute estimates remain visible either way.

Shared workspace · Sign in

Cloud account: not connected

Use one private workspace code across your phone, iPad, and computer—or share it with someone you trust. Everyone using that code can see and edit the same apartments, star ratings, notes, pins, and changes. No email account is required. Cloudflare D1 binding ATLAS_DB is required. This is a shared-secret sign-in, not separate user accounts.

Shared workspace access code

Local-only mode. Sign in to share changes between devices.

Changes auto-save to Cloudflare shortly after you edit and refresh on other devices (about every 10 seconds while the app is open). If offline, edits remain on this device until it reconnects. The Google Maps API key stays local and is never synced. Keep your code private: anyone with it has edit access, and there is no password-recovery service.

Data & recovery

Backups include all listings, notes, favorites, commute estimates, and settings (except your API key). They are the easiest way to move data between devices. For automatic multi-device updates, sign in to the shared Cloudflare workspace above. Local export/import remains available as a backup and works without cloud setup.

SMART LISTING IMPORT

Add from a rental website

Paste one listing link. Northstar recognizes the source, checks for duplicates, and pre-fills any reliable details it can identify.

Apartment listing URL

Open original ↗

Major rental sites often block automatic webpage extraction. URL details are still recognized; for more accurate prices, layouts and amenities, select and copy the listing details on the source website, then paste them below.

Listing text (optional but strongly recommended)

Photo links (optional, one image URL per line)

Photos are linked to the original hosting website; some sites block external image display.

Nothing is saved until you review and confirm the apartment editor.
